Chaka Khan

Chaka Khan is an American singer-songwriter. She is also referred to by her most well-known nickname, Queen of Funk. In the course of her more than fifty-year career she has won a total 10 Grammys. She has also been named as the 65th highest-performing dance artist of all time by Billboard magazine. Her grandmother introduced her to jazz when she was a child. The beginning years of her career, she performed in various groups. She later joined a band named Rufus. As part of the group, she recorded her first record when she was just twenty-one. One year later the group won their very first Grammy. In the following year, she was able to make her debut as an artist on her own, and made her debut album self-titled. Over the years, she released other albums such as "Echoes of an Era", "The Woman I Am" and one track called "Funk This". Other than her contributions to the music industry, she also gained reputation for her charitable activities. Chaka Khan Foundation, which was founded by her to help children and adults with Autism and families in need. Khan is also a frequent actor. She was the sister of Carrie, in the musical "Mama I'm Ready to Sing." Chaka Chaka Chaka
